Kibaale Special Projects

The sponsorship of individual students, special gifts for families and general gifts for housing, immunization, water projects etc. are very much appreciated. Ongoing development requires that these continue to come in.
Pacific Academy Outreach Society (PAOS) undertakes to ensure the entire amount of your donation will be sent to Kibaale. All administration costs are covered by Pacific Academy and other sources.
This page contains a summary of special projects that are planned for between July 2007 and June 2008 - listed in next column. They include classroom space, clinic building, clinic patient sponsorship program, teacher housing and the clean water project.

Timothy Centre
The proposed Timothy Centre in Uganda aims to provide opportunity for:

  • leadership and training courses for teachers, business people, health care workers, pastors and others;
  • programs aimed at developing entrepreneurial skills and opportunities;
  • accomodation for visitors and teams
  • a Christian senior high school

Clinic Services (KCPS Sponsorship):
The average cost of treating a patient including multiple visits and medication is $4.00 per month above the user fees collected. Present sources of income for the clinic cover around 600 patients per month, not the 1,600 who now seek treatment. As a result we are looking for 40 individuals, families, churches or businesses who will become Kibaale Clinic Patient Sponsors (KCPS). They will be asked to commit to provide $100 per month to treat 25 patients.

Teacher Housing:

As Kibaale is a remote rural community Ugandan teachers need housing for their families.

  • Consists of six housing units
  • Cost: $60,000 total ot $10,000 per unit

Clean Water Project :
The village of Kibaale has no municipal water services so is dependent on the local river which dries up from time to time. The goal is to drill up to ten wells in the Kibaale area. Two of the wells will directly benefit the Kibaale Community Centre. The others will serve the surrounding community. The average cost of drilling a well is estimated at $12,000. Our goal is to raise $60,000 which will be matched by $60,000 from a partner organization.

  • Cost to PAOS: $60,000 or $6,000 per well

Thank you for ongoing support from the Pacific Academy community and from other donors in *Canada, also from Britian, Holland, Germany and the USA.
*All donations from Canadian sources will be issued income tax receipts.
